About the role

We are looking for a Growth Marketing Manager to accelerate the performance of our growth marketing programs and channels through experimentation and optimization.This role will work to drive improvements to help more entrepreneurs, across the world, discover how Shopify is right for them.

This role sits at the intersection of analytics, product and growth marketing. The ideal candidate is user obsessed, data driven and has strong technical, analytical and product background with a focus on delivering high impact and sustainable growth. They have experience working closely with cross-functional partners and demonstrated success optimizing customer journeys by applying growth principles to drive performance -- including experimentation, data-driven optimization and customer-centric product positioning.

You’ll be doing things like:

  • Perform quantitative analysis to build hypotheses and drive optimization roadmaps.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and researchers to build understanding and identify opportunities.
  • Lead experimentation program to drive optimization at scale.
  • Own prioritization and execution of product changes to drive growth in partnership with engineers, product managers, designers, data scientists and content strategists.
  • Leverage growth and optimization best practices to achieve results and lead progress.


  • 2+ years experience performing data analysis
  • 3+ years experience working cross-functionally with engineers, product managers, designers and data scientists
  • 2+ years experience with querying data sets using SQL and/or other programming languages.
  • 2+ years experience with product optimization, including: conversion funnels, page optimization
  • 2+ years experience leading high-cadence controlled experimentation
  • Identifying opportunity and leading product changes with a cross functional team of engineers, product managers, designers and data scientists
  • Building strategy and leading execution to drive measured outcomes.

Bonus if you have:

  • Critical thinking skills that allow you to go beyond just the numbers and assess creative assets and copy
  • SaaS business growth experience
  • A willingness to work outside of your scope in order to bring alignment and better overall outcomes to the business at large
  • Experience in reaching and engaging technical audiences (Engineers, Data Scientists)
  • Entrepreneurial experience bootstrapping your own business - maybe even with Shopify!
